How To Set Up Virtual Bundling On Amazon

Things you need:

Access to Amazon Seller Central

Access to Product Bundles

Access to Brand Dashboard.

Amazon recently made it possible for sellers to create virtual bundles (beta) of their products. Virtual bundles are 2-5 items from your catalogue that are sold as one, typically at a discount. These products are bundled together but are not packaged together. This is incredibly important for sellers that have complimentary items that are frequently bought together. A great example of this is toothbrushes and toothpaste. You cant really use one without the other, and now you can easily bundle them together so the purchase of two items happens at once.

The number of bundles available for purchase are determined solely by the the lowest item quantity available. I.e. if you have 5 toothbrushes and 10 units of toothpaste available, the available number of toothbrush and toothpaste bundles is 5. This value automatically adjusts itself depending on your inventory.

Important to note: Once you create a product bundle, you in turn create a brand new SKU for this “new product”. That means you can edit the title, description, bullets, images, and price, however, you cannot change the products offered within the product bundle itself.

To create your own virtual bundles:

  1. Seller-central. Head over to seller central and navigate to the Performance tab → brand dashboard. Scroll down to virtual bundles, and select “add a bundle”. You will now be able to add your products to the bundle.

  2. Add your first product. The first product that you add will be the main component of the bundle and this determines what category your bundle will be placed in.  When you are satisfied with your selection, click add product.

  3. Add more products to the bundle. You may now add any other products that you wish to include in the bundle. When you are done, click “Done adding products” once your products are added.

  4. You may now add some images. Ideally the image you choose will represent the entire bundle well not just the primary product. There are also additional slots for up to 8 additional images.

  5. Once this is complete you may go ahead and fill out your Title, Bundle Price, Description and Bullet Points. The SKU is left blank because Amazon will generate a random new SKU when the bundle is completed. Once you are done filling the table out, you can now click “save and publish” and the bundle will be live within 15 mins.

Try it out for yourself! Are you bundling yet? Are you seeing good results? Do not hesitate to comment below!
